Contract - Senior 3d Modeler (Remote)
Overview
Landmark Games is seeking an experienced animal modeler to work on creating detailed meshes and textures for Landmark’s dog-themed mobile game, Top Dogs.
An early version of the game is available on the AppStore & Google Play. Please note, the current models are not representative of the final intended quality.
You will be solely responsible for all animal modeling tasks, including modeling, sculpting, UV mapping, texturing, baking, and set-up in Unity.

High-Level Brief
Using breed-specific supplied references, you will be required to create realistic dog meshes, including a high-res sculpt for map baking and a game-resolution equivalent. This will require great attention to detail to ensure high accuracy, considering the animals’ skeleton and muscle groups.
Each game-ready mesh will be a single mesh of between 8 and 10 thousand triangles (depending on breed size). You will be required to supply three LOD levels and 2 UV sets; one breed-specific for the primary material and another shared between all breeds, which is used for accessory overlays, including jackets, etc.
Once you've created the model, you'll be required to create and bake detailed and accurate textures, such as base, metallic, and normal maps. Each dog will initially use a white-fur base map with lower-resolution overlays for different coat variations. Being a mobile game, the map size is limited to 1024x1024, so an efficient UV layout is vital.
Throughout the process, your insights and suggestions will be highly valued. You will be expected to shape the process, offering your unique perspective into ways we can adjust and improve to achieve better results or streamline the process to improve efficiency.
Requirements
Experience with and ability to produce high-quality quadruped high and low poly meshes in ZBrush/Maya
Experience with and ability to produce high-quality textures in ZBrush/SubstancePainter/Photoshop
A deep understanding of animal structure, skeleton, and muscle groups
Previous experience with animal/organic modeling and texturing
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Ideally, experience with Unity, its mesh and texture import processes, and material set-up
